Why we built Meridian Cloud

After two years running a small moving company on duct tape and 8 different SaaS tools, I built the software I wished existed.

The 8-app stack

When I started Mint Moving Co., I was running on Bigger Boards + QuickBooks + Calendly + MailChimp + Twilio + Stripe Standalone + Asana + Gusto. Eight subscriptions. Three of them billed annually. None of them talked to each other.

Every Monday, someone in my office spent 90 minutes copying numbers from one app to another. Every quote that "fell through the cracks" was actually a quote in MailChimp that didn't know the job was already booked. Every payroll cycle started with a CSV from Bigger Boards and ended with a hand-typed spreadsheet for Gusto.

The "we should build this" moment

The breaking point was Memorial Day weekend, 2024. A customer called angry. Their move had been double-booked because two systems had different "source of truth" for the calendar. They were standing on their porch with a moving truck that wasn't ours blocking their driveway.

I refunded the deposit, comp'd a discount on the rescheduled job, and went home to think.

There has to be a better way.

Why not just buy ServiceTitan?

$300+/user/mo with annual contracts. For a 4-person company doing $700K/year, that's a $14,400 line item before you've made a dollar. ServiceTitan is genuinely great software for fleets of 50 trucks. It's overkill for the rest of us.

What's different about Meridian

  • One app, not eight. Quotes, scheduling, payroll, accounting, marketing, customer portal, all on the same database.
  • Built on AI, not bolted on. AI quote drafts, follow-ups personalized to your historical pricing, voicemail summaries, review responses. It's not a $50/mo add-on.
  • Priced for the rest of us. Free to run, no per-user fees, no implementation contract. We take a flat 1% of payments processed through Meridian (on top of Stripe's standard processing fee), so we only make money when you do.
  • Mint Moving is customer zero. I run my company on this. I dogfood every feature. I find the bugs first.
